charitable donations for the Scleroderma Foundation and the
Lance Armstrong Foundation. The year is highlighted by the
RFL team competing in the SCORE Baja 1000, traveling the

On October 4, 2005, Julia Lynn Filanc passed away from
scleroderma and lung cancer at the age of 50. Her brother, Jim,
is the team captain for the Racing For Life Offroad Team. Julie's
wishes included that donations be made to the Scleroderma
Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Jim has
dedicated 2006 to raising awareness for these two worthy
charities in her name and encouraging everyone to give often.
"Our race team wants to dedicate this year to her and the
thousands of other people affected by these diseases. So with
this tour and at every race we take part in this season we want to
teach people about these diseases and raise money to fund
research and outreach programs."

Lake Elsinore, California. On Saturday, September 30, SCORE International
(www.score-international.com) is hosting its Annual Drawing party to determine
starting positions for the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. The Racing For Life Charity
drive is being featured at the drawing party, to be held at the Lake Elsinore Casino
from 3 to 5 PM. There will be festivities all day, starting at 11:30 AM. All the top off
road racing teams and major racers, including Johnny Campbell, Mike Bell, and
Robbie Gordon, are expected to attend. A key feature of this year's event will be the
RFL raffle where the restored 1974 Husqvarna 250 (pictured at the right) will be
given away. RFL has been selling raffle tickets all season long, raising several
thousand dollars to date. The net proceeds are being donated to The Scleroderma
Foundation and The Lance Armstrong Foundation.
You can purchase raffle tickets through this website at KTM of Temecula, Temecula
Motorsports or on the day of the event at the Casino. Tickets are $3 each or four (4)
for $10. Additional prizes have been donated by Temecula Motorsports, Tucker
Rocky, Malcolm Smith Racing, Cycle Gear and KTM of Temecula. In all, more than $7,500 in prizes will be given away.
TEMECULA MOTORSPORTS AGREES TO SPONSOR RFL
The Racing For Life Off Road Team is announcing its new sponsor, Temecula Motorsports.
Temecula Motorsports will be providing pit and logistics support for the
team. In addition, they have agreed to feature the RFL logo on company vehicles, providing additional visibility at this year's race.
This year the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 will be shown on both ESPN and NBC in separate televised broadcasts to be aired in
December. In addition, TMS is providing lodging, spare parts and bike upgrades.

KTM has agreed to provide parts to overhaul and upgrade the Julia Lynn as well as spare parts support
for the race. An announcement is forthcoming on additional support. We wish to thank KTM North
