Gala Event a Smash Success!
So it came and went.   But not before two days of great fun and excitement was enjoyed by more than 1,000
race fans, drivers and riders.  On Friday, Cameron Steel and SCORE International hosted a fundraiser for
Chris Ackerman, a young man who became a quadriplegic through a bad accident in the desert a few years
back.  The Metal Mulisha, a professional stunt jumping bike team, performed for the crowds, highlighting the
evening's events.  A silent auction was held as well, raising money to help Chris and his family deal with
mounting medical expenses.  Jim and Jessica Korbett, Miss San Bernardino valley 2006, worked the crowds
selling raffle tickets for the Husky.

Saturday started with a brunch hosted by SCORE International.  Thank you Sal and gang!!!  We set up our
booth at poolside, with the Husky in display as people walked in next to the spa.  A special thanks to Mary Ness,
and Fletcher Diehl, President,  from the San Diego Scleroderma Chapter.  They pitched in throughout the day
helping sell tickets and bring a real face to Scleroderma.

Several events were held throughout the day, including a closed course car race, The Pit Challenge, and the
drawing for the positions in the Baja 1000.  During the position drawing, we held a door prize raffle for donated
gifts, including a riding leather jacket, helmet, handlebars, t-shirts, gloves, and many other great gifts.  Many
thanks to KTM of Temecula, Temecula Motorsports, Cycle Gear, Tucker Rocky and Malcolm Smith Racing.
Your generous gifts help us raise more than $5,000 during the year, with about 50% coming during the Drawing
Party weekend!

Rick L. Johnson of Elk Grove, California, was the Husky winner, with his ticket drawn at random by Sal Fish
during the Pit Challenge.  He was stoked that the Husky has autographed by Malcolm Smith, Ron Bishop, and
Sal Fish, all inductees into the Off Road Hall of Fame.  The b
ike is now on display at Rick's home where it has been retired!

The entire event was filmed and shown on Digital 1 TV (
www.digital1unlimited.tv).  Included is an interview with
Jim Filanc and a feature on the Husky at poolside.

So check out the two days of fun filled action below!
