Welcome To Racing For Life. We are a group of offroad
enthusiasts who are dedicating 2006 to raising awareness and

On October 4, 2005, Julia Lynn Filanc passed away from
scleroderma and lung cancer at the age of 50. Her brother,
Jim, is the team captain for the Racing For Life Offroad
Team. Julie's wishes included that donations be made to the
Scleroderma Foundation and the Lance Armstrong
Foundation. Jim has dedicated 2006 to raising awareness
for these two worthy charities in her name and encouraging
everyone to give often.
"Our race team wants to dedicate this year to her and the
thousands of other people affected by these diseases. So
with this tour and at every race we take part in this season
we want to teach people about these diseases and raise
money to fund research and outreach programs."

RACING FOR LIFE DAILY UPDATE
Today was special in that we were helped by a good Samaritan in our time of need, we helped a neighboring vendor tote
his shipment from the main gate and we learned of a tragic death. Darren Peck, the Big D, gave us two batteries for our
camera when the general store ran out, saving us a three hour trip into Sturgis. We made a donation to the cause in his
We had a touching moment when a young woman stopped by our booth to get out of the rain. We noticed tears in her
eyes, and as we consoled her, she shared that her brother was just killed in Iraq. She was trying to find her family
somewhere at The Chip to break the news. It was his third tour of Iraq. He was just in the states about two weeks ago,
volunteering for duty once again. We salute you, sir, for your dedication and ultimate sacrifice in the war on terror. It only
because of you and those who have gone before you that we can be here at The Chip. Our warmest sympathies go to
your family in this time of loss.
In addition to these special moments we witnessed the usual fun and mayhem. As the day drew on and the rain strated to
pour, the crowds got wilder. George Thorogood roked the house, touching off a wave of whiskey shots!
The Daily FAN VIP Raffle
Today's raffle winner ran off before we could get his name. Hope you enjoyed the show! We did capture you on film
though. The next raffle will be Thursday for the James Gang and Ted Nugent (The Nuge).
