Riverside, California. Racing For Life is proud to announce it has established a relationship with Malcolm Smith Motorsports for 2007. With
our efforts to promote our three charities, including the Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation, we are now called the Malcolm Smith
Motorsports Racing For Life Offroad Team Racing. Our main sponsor, Sunstar Sprockets, in supporting our team in this year's 40th
anniversary Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 race, will be featured in all promotional activities in conjunction with our mutual fund raising efforts. A
BIG announcement is coming soon! So stay tuned.
In making this special announcement, Jim Filanc said, "We are pleased to be able
to help Malcolm and the kids at El Oasis. Malcolm is so important to our sport,
and we hope to live up to his expectations." MSM will provide dealership support,
assisting with the preparation of the Julia Lynn II in this year's
Tecate SCORE Baja 1000."
Road Trip to JN Roberts Montana Ranch
Kicks Off 2007 Fundraising Season
The RFL boys are back at it again, kicking the 2007 fundraising season off in
grand style. After a 1,200 mile bonzai run up I15, we arrived at JN Roberts'
1,800 acre ranch outside Helena, Montana in time to have a beer with JN and
Jimmy, his son, fresh from a ride on JN's 18 miles of mountain trails.

Julia Lynn Filanc June 17, 1955 -- October 4, 2005
|
On October 4, 2005, Julia Lynn Filanc passed away from scleroderma and
lung cancer at the age of 50. Her brother, Jim, is the team captain for the
Racing For Life Offroad Team. Julie's wishes included that donations be made
to the Scleroderma Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Jim
dedicated 2006 to raising awareness for these two worthy charities in her name
and encouraging everyone to give often.
"WIth the 2007 Racing Season underway, we hope to increase awareness even
further and expand our fundraising efforts to include The Malcolm Smith
Motorsports Foundation El Oasis Children's Orphanage. WIth our major
sponsors, Husqvarna and Sunstar Sprockets we are off to a great start to
exceed our expectations!"

The Julia Lynn Rides Again!
Through the generous donation by Husqvarna USA and SunStar Sprockets,
Racing For Life will be building a special edition version of the Husqvarna TC 510
to compete in the 40th anniversary running of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.
To be named the Julia Lynn II, in honor of Julia Lynn Filanc, who passed away
October 4, 2005 from lung cancer and scleroderma, the motorcycle will be specially
prepared to endure the grueling 1,436 planned miles of this year's 40th anniversary
race. In December, the Julia Lynn will be auctioned off to the highest bidder with
100% of the proceeds benefiting the three charities.
SPECIAL UPDATE -- The new graphic decals will be ready in a few weeks. Stay tuned
for a special photo shoot and preview of the bike as it is readied for this year's race!
