Welcome To Racing For Life.  We are a group of offroad

Tijuana Mayor Jorge Hank Rohn
Wins Julia Lynn in Silent Auction
Primm, Nevada. On December 9, 2006 at the Primm Valley Resort and Casino, the Annual SCORE Awards banquet was held, honoring the
SCORE champions for 2006.  One of the many highlights of the evening included the Silent Auction of the Julia Lynn.  Tijuana Mayor Jorge
Hank Rohn won the bidding with a bid of $7,500.  A special announcement was made by Sal Fish, SCORE President and CEO that the 40th
running of the Baja 1000 will follow the original course run in 1967 from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas.  A special Baja 1000 logo was unveiled
commemorating this announcement.  Please

Cameron Steel SCORE Person of the Year

A major highlight of the evening was the naming of Cameron Steel as SCORE's Person of the Year.  Cameron,
founder of Desert Assassins, was the emcee for the evening, and made significant contributions throughout the
year, including organizing and running the Baja 1000 Drawing Party held in September.  Sal Fish, noticeably
impressed Cameron's emcee skills, invited Cameron to host next year's banquet, noting that men like Cameron
represen the future.

$15,000 was donated to The Lance Armstrong Foundation and The Scleroderma Foundation at a Press
Conference held at the San Diego Automotive Museum on December 28, 2006.  Jim Filanc presented a check
for $7,500 to Fletcher Diehl, San Diego Scleroderma Chapter President on behalf of the national organization.
Also in attendance at the Press Conference was Oscar Ramos, SCORE legal counsel, and representative of
Major Hank Rohn.  He presented a check for $7,500 to Racing For Life in exchange for The Julia Lynn.
Television and newspaper coverage of the event aired the same day.  This Press Conference was a fitting end
to an amazing year of education, fund raising, travel, just plain meeting a lot of great people.  RFL is looking to
continue in 2007 to benefit the charities and honor the 40th Anniversary of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.

Special Announcement for 2007

Racing For Life is coming back in 2007 with bigger fund raising and awareness raising plans
than before.  The centerpiece for the fund raising effort will be the restoration of a 1967
Husqvarna 360 to full race trim as raced by Malcolm Smith and JN Roberts 40 years ago.
Work has already started on the restoration, with planned details to include headlights from
a BSA Victor 441.  A "live" auction will be held at next year's SCORE Awards Banquet, with
net proceeds from the auction benefiting THREE charities, The Lance Armstrong
Foundation, The Scleroderma Foundation, and, new for 2007,
The Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation / Malcolm Smoth Orphanages.  Throughout the
year, autographs will be obtained on the restored Husqvarna from the overall winners of the
past 39 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000s.  Stay tuned throughout the year to follow the restoration
and autograph gathering.  May the highest bidder donate generously to these three worthy

On October 4, 2005, Julia Lynn Filanc passed away from
scleroderma and lung cancer at the age of 50.  Her brother, Jim,
is the team captain for the Racing For Life Offroad Team.  Julie's
wishes included that donations be made to the
Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  Jim has
dedicated 2006 to raising awareness for these two worthy
charities in her name and encouraging everyone to give often.

"Our race team wants to dedicate this year to her and the
thousands of other people affected by these diseases.  So with
this tour and at every race we take part in this season we want to
teach people about these diseases and raise money to fund
research and outreach programs."
